Assignments for the Foundation Program in Photography at Sigtuna Folkhögskola.

The assignment was to explore landscape photography. The task was to submit two photos in total: one taken in nature, representing the traditional view of landscape photography, and one taken in an urban environment, exploring the urban landscape.

The assignment was to investigate different types of available light: direct, reflected, and diffused, and to study the character of the light, whether it is hard or soft. The task was to take two photos in available light: one indoors and one outdoors.

The purpose of the third assignment was to explore abstract compositions. The task was to apply compositional rules in photographing five everyday objects in an abstract way.

The purpose of the second assignment was to explore the golden hour. The task was to take 2–4 photos of chosen subjects, using the warm and soft light of this time of day.

The purpose of the first assignment was to practice basic camera techniques. It consisted of four tasks: illustrating the word stress, taking a portrait with shallow depth of field, capturing moving cars with a slow shutter speed, and taking two photos of a corner with a zoom lens, one zoomed in and the other zoomed out.

Photo Marathon during the residential weekend in August 2025, as part of the Foundation Program in Photography at Sigtuna folkhögskola. The assignment was to photograph nine themes: freeze a movement, shallow depth of field, deep depth of field, vanity, a dominant color, contrast, problem, depth, and humor.
